Colour has its moments, but there is something inimitable about black and white.
I don't know what; a nostalgia, some dark simple place I can relate to.

Isn't this the problem with Black & White though? It gives a veil of nostalgia to everything? It makes everything all too pleasing?

Davidikus, nice point; I thought about this as well. Makes things too easy, no? To take a less than mediocre colour shot and monochrome it is one way to save it; I've been privy to that. However the nostalgia is not necessarily a bad thing if it suits the mood. Unfortunately my mind often goes in that direction. I don't know the answer either, but I'm glad for your always provoking comments! Do you choose not to shoot in B&W?
